Is there anyway the "temporary difficulty" message can me edited to read something more appropriate, just stating it is the "site" that is having problems and not the photographers, as I fear the current message gives the wrong impression and could effect site viewers contacting photographers which is not what anyone needs during these poor financial times.
Hi there, I am trying to login to my page but it's not letting me and still has the "minor problems etc" wording in the red box at the top of the pages. I can view my site but that's all... www.icandyphotography.co.nz

Shay, I have been having problems for 4 hours... it's really not that temporary!
Isn't it amazing that in our current technology-based, gotta have it right now world, 4 hours is no longer considered "temporary" but "permanent."
BTW - I understand that with business, downtime is not good. I'm not commenting on that. I am commenting on the terms used in a lighthearted way. That's all. Isn't it sad too that I feel I have to give a disclaimer on a post like this which was completely meant in fun, in the off chance that somebody would be offended by it. But, in even going this far, I've probably offended someone who wasn't offended by my original post, but they might be offended by the fact that I thought they would be offended. Oh, the slippery slope.
It does suck to be down occasionally. And you guys that hang out and post on dgrin notice it first. And it seems like a lot to you because you live on SmugMug (and we thank you for that!).
Smuggy's uptime has been way up there, over time, over the years. Like 99.99+ percent. No, not five 9s. But darn close! I know that when downtime comes it's no good for anyone ...but I will stack us up against any site of our size and nature.
Last night we lost a core Database server due to a hardware issue. Don had us in read-only mode as much and quick as possible while he worked on the issue.

Don't worry. Even if you could log in you can't upload pictures. Everything says they uploaded, but they haven't. Site is very slow as well for the 3rd day in a row.

What's with all these minor problems with Smugmug? Very frustrating.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, it is a temporary outage and we're working hard to fix it.
Shay.
The site is back.
Thanks for your patience,
Shay.

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.
Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

You haven't got Nov 18th, 22+ minutes.
The blog doesn't get updated with everything that goes on anymore.
I have taken to using a spare monitor on my corp account to get the real deal with SM, link below.
Note its only reporting complete outage and doesn't include read only mode.
