Butterflies are great subjects, Fred - colorful, relatively easy to find, desire little in the way of payment, and beautiful. Kind of like barns in the mid-west! :D

I think I have shot many of the same butterflies here in Indiana at the Butterfly Pavillion at the Indy Zoo. Here are two I have posted previously...

I'll be in New York (Long Island to be exact), nothing scheduled for that day either, so tempting.

I'll have to check this out on the web, and mapquest to get my bearings!

I'm trying not to plan too much for my trip, don't want to wear myself out. Still trying to recover from Yosemite.

Problem is, my mom (who we're staying with) is so far out on the island, I'm looking at 1.5 hours just to get to Manhattan!)

I'm determined to get to Horsefeathers in Tarrytown, so maybe I could combine the Bronx Zoo and Horsefeathers in one trip. The next day Friday I'm headed to see some friends in New Jersey. Saturday is taken up with a family gathering, then I have Sunday, Monday and Tuesday free, but I thought I'd do island stuff like Jones Beach, Captree, Fire Island's Sunken Forest and Montauk on those days.

Thanks for the info Troy, this is so timely!

    Butterflies
You got some great photos there! We enjoy going to Pismo Beach to see the monarchs, but we've only seen 2 or 3 varieties au naturel...

I'm hoping to visit the Bronx Zoo butterfly house, hope I can get photos as good as yours!

    Very nice butterflys
    #1 is my favorite
Yes sometimes they sit just right for you..sometimes not
There are a couple of spots at the airport that at times are just filled with them.
I sure I look pretty silly chasing them around that field ..but it is fun

Yes love the barns need to go out and shoot some more around here ....I spend too much time in the city but I love the lights ne_nau.gif

    Thanks for the look
