Cerbat Mountains Snow Pano Against Pink Sky

So the clouds finally rolled back to reveal the snowfall on the Cerbats outside of Kingman. No biggie -- but when the sunset turned pink behind them, I knew what I had to do.

Be sure to scroll right to see the whole thing.

Whoa, that's pretty cool! I love the cool (as in cold) pink/blue colors.

As long as we're suggesting things to crop out, the pink elephant and the unicorn should probably be removed, too distracting.

Thanks, Ron. I thought you were joking about the pink elephant and unicorn, until I saw them. eek7.gif Good point. rolleyes1.gif

Great colors and light. Very nice composition. One pick I don't care for the pole with the wires running from it I would clone that out.

Thanks, Ray. Yeah, a good cloning pass is definitely in order. I guess I was in too much of a hurry to post it. rolleyes1.gif

Pano head? ne_nau.gif This one was hand-held, baby! deal.gif I knew that light would only last for seconds, so I couldn't take the chance of even getting out my tripod. 4 shots at 100mm in landscape mode (as opposed to portrait). Someday I'd like to get a pano head myself. nod.gif

    Thanks Scoupe!!

thats the only areas i find problems with my non-pano head shooting...

Thanks, Aaron. Not many days like that in a decade. They tell me it was in the 80's the last time Kingman got snow like that.

And you're right on both accounts. Evidently if you're shooting at infinitely, or thereabouts, a pano head is completely superflous. And yes, this was shot with my 100-400L IS. My favorite pano lens. thumb.gif

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Schmoo. (hey that rhymes!).

Ron has a pretty keen eye. That's probably why his shots are so flawless. He's referring to the pinkish gold bush on the left with the pine tree in the middle of it. That, and a lone telephone pole near the middle of the shot. Honestly, this picture needs a complete rework. I'm going to start from scratch and restitch in Autostitch as I can see stitching artifacts from CS3 which are kind of bumming me out.

Thanks again, and I'm glad you liked the shot.

Now I'm totally impressed. It's a great shot. I'm still wanting a pano head though. ;)
