My friends recently had their first and I got to visit earlier this week. She's two weeks old. C&C desired, but "Awe, cute"s are okay, too. :D

Canon 50D
17-55 EF-S lens @ 50mm
580EX Flash--on camera
f/3.2, 1/30s, ISO 400

Mostly just a RAW conversion and cleaning up a few minor skin imperfections (I'm not a fan of the ultra-smooth look).

I love the contrast between the black background/hair and the pink blanket/clothes! Did you use a diffuser on the flash?

Thanks, Mike! No diffuser, but I was bouncing off the ceiling. It was completely dark outside, so no opportunity for natural light unfortunately.

Thanks, Tom. The files are *huge* of course (~20 Meg). The noise definitely seems greater than with the 20D, which makes me think if I should've gone with the 40D instead... but a small amount of noise reduction in ACR seems to work okay. I definitely love the big screen, spot metering, ISO in the viewfinder, etc etc that are all step ups from the 20D. I haven't used Live View yet... but so far so good!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'm on vacation right now so my visits here are few and short!
