I was playing with my new D300, and Fonzie, our 12 year old, was hanging out. How do these look?

    Cute dog! I know "that look" in the last image well :D.

    As for the photos themselves, there's a serious lack of contrast here. Did you convert them in camera? I also think, that the crop in both pictures - especially the cut-off nose and ear in the last one - is too tight.

    Yeah, the camera was set on mono, and these weren't processed, so the crop is what I took. You're right about cropping off the nose and ear. But I kind a like the soft contrast in the first pic. I keep working for the well defined but soft look Tri-X used to give me, but haven't found it yet.

    What a cutie :D I like them even with the nose cropped off some.
