trying to change name of a category

and it tells me i already have category with that name. but i don't. i deleted it. THEY have a category with that name "Art". I am wanting "art".

I'm trying to change my categories from "faces, places and spaces" ... to "art, portrait, commercial". And put all my images from all my galleries currently up.. into "art"... and then add new stuff to the new categories of "portrait and commercial".

I thought the fastest way to do this is to just change the names of my three categories and then move all images from their galleries into the new galleries in my new categories. MAKES SENSE?

You can't rename a category to a name that already exists including the built-in categories that Smugmug has already defined. In your case, it appears that "Art" is already defined as a category. You can change your existing galleries to have Art as their category and when you do that, you should see Art offered as a choice.

Where do you see that? I can't find it on your site. Can you post a link to the exact page and tell me which words you want to remove?

sorry about asking twice. and never mind about my question. it fixed itself somehow. maybe because i deleted subcat's -cuz i dont think i want to mess with them.
