Favorite Photo Treatment?

It's amazing how each of us has our own unique style of digitally editing and manipulating the photos we take. I'm afraid I haven't gotten much beyond converting to black and white, but even that is pretty cool. I thought it might be fun to post some of your favorite ways to edit or 'treat' a photo (ie. graduated vignetting, sepia tone, etc.), along with an example of a photo you used the technique on. I'm most interested in seeing photos of people.

Along with the photo you post, give a brief description of what you did to the photo.

Let's see all that creativity out there!!!

I am still learning, so keep that in mind. I love experimenting. You can see my people photos HERE. I use Photoshop CS for my post processing.

Curves, cropping, unsharp mask and then used PS CS to make it red DUOtone.

I found a tutorial online somewhere to do this. I have no idea of all the steps but it was fun to play with. I Googled "photoshop aged photo" or something like that.

This one had minimal post done to it as far as color. I cloned out a post that was distracting and also added the vignette.

My in-laws in my backyard. I lessened the wrinkles a bit, darkened the background just a bit, lightened the shadows on their faces a little. Add the vignette and sharpen.

I prowl these forums for ideas like crazy and try to emulate some of the ideas I see here. Doesn't always work too well but sometimes even a blind squirrel gets a nut! thumb.gif

I look forward to seeing what others post here.

    Pop art effect
I like a "pop art" effect. I found a Photoshop Action for this free on web. It takes a flattened image and creates a new image with the results like the image pasted below. Its not particularly quick about the conversion but it is push-button -- no user imput required.

    Poster edges
Photoshop's "poster edges" filter is another one I like a lot too.
