he wanted something fresh to give to his parents for Christmas. he hasn't decided on what print yet - he loved them all.
we headed to the beach - he loves surfing and longboarding. considering it's the middle of winter surfing was out of the question. (no wetsuit) longboarding happened.

Do you every worry about damaging your camera or do you use some sort of filter?
I pretty much never have the sun in the frame because I worry about damaging the camera sensor...is that on old wives tale?
Nice pictures by the way, you seem to always get your subjects to relax and that is half the battle.

Where are you located?
About shooting into the sun, don't worry about it. Digital sensors aren't sensitive to the sun, and sans 30 second exposure directly into it with a long lens, you will be fine. Just shoot!
