Just received a amazing phone call, a national magazine will be using one of my photographs in their February issue. :clap

First time this has ever happened I am over the moon.

    Congratulations :ivar wings.gif you must be so excited. Awesome series, the little dog looks like he has a lot of energy! What lens/s did you use - images are so sharp. Well done :D

    Thanks Nicola, all the photographs were done on my old (now 40D owner) 20D with the Canon 28-135 IS

    Is it your little dog? it looks about the size of my cat she's cute too,

    Congratulations, Scott. How did your image come to the attention of the magazine? Did you send it in or did they discover it through some other source? Just curious.

    Thanks for the kind words guys,

    The photograph was originally submitted for a competition by the dog owner. The magazine got in touch with the owner asking who had done the photograph/s, she explained and the magazine went onto say that they were not willing to enter the photograph into the competition but would love to use it in a feature on the dog breed. So, the magazine publishing company got in touch with me and asked permission etc

    The dogs owner was given a small gift package for being declined competition entry (which she was happy with) and I got kudos of having a photograph in a national magazine.

    Just curious if you don't mind sharing- What kind of rights did you license to the magazine (one time, exclusive, unlimited, print only, etc)?

    What did they pay you ( ballpark)?

    It's a one time use on the image.

    I would prefer to keep the money side of it private. I don't have a problem private messaging you this figure but you have 'personal messages' switched off in your profile.
