Today I received in the post my lovely new hard cover EF Lens Work III The Eyes of the EOS (7th Edition) book by Canon. It is beautifully illustrated and has a page or two for each lens with sample photos.

It covers everything from history to the EF/EFS lenses and their accessories and how to use them and the best situations to use them in. PLUS a whole lot more in it's 250 stunning pages.

Brilliant guide for those wanting an all in one reference to help make decisions on which lens to buy/ways to get the best from the lens & more.

I picked mine up for $40NZ, here is a link for B&H customers at US $29.99;

and here is a link to Digital Picture with a couple of images of the book & a Link to DOWNLOAD the book in 11 sep PDF Files (I just love the hardcover version & nice to display in the studio!);

Now I am off to drool over all the lenses on my (now longer) wishlist :lust

BTW - this book has most likely been covered on here, though I had not come across a post yet. However it has such a wealth of information that I'm sure both newbies & pros would benefit from so I wanted to share :D

    Aspire,

    A camera lens is just a tool within the camera system. What is it you hope to accomplish with a new lens?

    Do you feel that what you have in lenses is lacking? If so, in what way?

    Ziggy - I posted this as the book is such a great reference and those new to photography would benefit from being able to see the full range of lenses and specifications which may help them decide on which lenses suit them best for their budget etc. I completely understand a lens is just a part of the whole system, I have a couple of L series lenses which I am purchasing next year to complete my system.

    By saying - adding to my wishlist I was simply implying I love all the Canon lenses & trying to get across how helpful the book is.

    Owning expensive lenses and cameras do not make you an instant award winning photographer - it's the person behind the lens and the skills they have. I did not attempt to come across that I had no idea on photography just trying to spread the word on a brilliant book I think others would benefit from :D

    Now I understand.

    When I read your headline, "Need Help With Which Lens To Buy? ", I thought you meant, "I Need Help With Which Lens To Buy? ".

    What you meant instead was, "Do You Need Help With Which Lens To Buy? ".

    Thanks for the recommendation about the book.
