Seasons Greetings, Friends

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Festivus, and what ever other greeting might be appropriate. We are off to my sister in laws for the next few days (as long as the flights aren't cancelled) and I won't be here to give my wishes on Christmas Day itself.

I have had a good photographic year, I think. My day job (as I refer to the thing that pays my families bills) has allowed me to travel a bit and I've managed to tie some special mini shoots with dgrinners into those trips. That has been wonderful, especially my trips to D.C. in April and Chicago in June. I've taken three family road trips so far: one to southern Alberta and one to Tofino, and those have generated some of my favorite photos of the year. The third was for soccer Nationals for my oldest son, and his team won gold, so that was pretty good too!
Finally, I was able to attend the Dgrin birthday party this month, and catch up with old friends as well as make many new ones!

I set out on a winter project to learn more about portraiture. I have had one family shoot with okay results, and one 'model' shoot thanks to Nik that was sooo much fun, and a great learning experience!

I think that for 2009, I am going to try a PAD project again, as well as work hard to be chosen as photographer for the two events I've been asked to bid on.

So, my dgrin family, thank you all for helping me to have such a great year, because with out this forum and this great group of people, I would still be trying to figure out the rule of thirds or what an f stop was! Because of this forum, I have someone to shoot with in just about every corner of the world imaginable! And of course, you are welcome to shoot with me if you are ver in this neck of the woods.

I wish you all the best for the holidays and for 2009! Please add your best of 08 and goals for 09!

WOW. I didn't even know that the holidays extended into Canada.
It's almost like Canada is a suburb of the U.S. :D

Not much happened to me this year.
    Let's see,

    25th wedding anniversary.
    Mini shootout in D.C.
    New left knee.
    Another Dgrin shootout.
    Turned 50.

That's about it for my highlights.

Happy Holidays Canadee-Ann. (and of course to the family as well)

Thanks much. I sorta let the blog slip, but I am hoping that in 09 I will suddenly find organizational skills beyond what I currently have, .....i.e. make time to blog and also to start a PAD! :D

Take Care and Best wishes for 09!

Well, despite the weather gods best efforts to keep us in beautiful British Columbia, we are now home, about 16 hours later than planned. I do hope everyone had a great Christmas. We did, spent with family that we don't go and see very often.
And you know what - I spent it taking snapshots of people! That was a great change of pace!
