My stretchy option is off, but my galleries are still stretching

Hi all,

I've been trying to fix this for too long now, without any success, so I'm turning here for help:
I've turned my Site-wide Customization stretchy option to "No" , but *some* of my gallery pages are still stretching.
I'm using the same theme throughout, that is: Smugmug gradient, and all the options within my Customize Gallery settings are the same.

Well, except for one: If I choose 'Community' for the 'Community Appearance' setting (the very last setting at the bottom of the Customize Gallery age) I notice that it's turning the Stretchy off. But if I choose Smugmug as that option, then my pages Stretch again.

But I don't want a Community for some pages and I don't want Stretch
It's like the Smugmug option here is overriding the Site-wide Customization stretchy option.

So can anyone help me out?

Many thanks,

David L

I just checked your galleries, and I don't see any galleries with stretchy active. All of the galleries are within your site - I don't see a community designation. Did you fix the problem?

If not, please be more specific. Which galleries are showing the problem?

    Hi,

I've not long gotten around the problem..

It seems to be a cache issue of some kind - Ijust refreshing the page did not work. If I navigate away from the page and back again, then I can see that it works.

I'm not sure if the cache issue is here with my browser or with Smugmug. Is this unusual behavior?

Thanks for looking into it anyway :)

    Curious, why not use Stretchy?

    Hi,

It's just my taste I guess.. I've a preference for simplicity and rigid form I think.

Stretchy is certainly nice, maybe I'll play with it more and change my mind, but I'm happy with it switched off for the time being.

    :)

    Hi Andy..

Ok, I'll try this once more then. You've talked me around :)

BTW, Why is it that when ever I reply here I have to login to DGrin each time? (I never logout)

Also, stretchy provides me a dilemma when customizing my site with a banner. I'd need to design a variable width banner or something.

Any suggestions on this are welcome :)

Have you considered a side-to-side banner and navbar where one is positioned on the left and the other floats to the right?

You can look at my site for an example. Other examples - Andy's http://www.moonriverphotography.com, and Barb's http://www.photoscapedesign.com. There are many more out there too.
