    #2 is more powerful, I think. Not a "nice" picture, but a strong one.

    Yes! I like #3 better. The composition is better than in #2. The person walking out of the frame and the homeless subject is looking out of the frame in #2. For #3 the homeless person looking up at the person walking by gives an idea of fleeting hope.
