I shot these in front of my house today. There are 5 of these guys who hang around and I didn't realize that they had such beautiful color in their feathers until I took these shots. Christmas dinner in the making??? :)

Thanks Dan/Travis. I was amazed at how iridescent their feathers appear when the sun hits them just right. The probably do weigh in about 15-25 pounds and could be marketed as "All Natural" lol..mmmm some graby, cornbread, stuffing....whew...lemme go git mah gun!

Thanks...actually these were taken with my 5D using the 100-400 glass. I'm still waiting for my 5DMII to arrive.

Ok. I haven't seen too many shots posted with that combo. A lot of folks use the 100-400 on full frame 1D series cameras, particularly for safaris, and of course get stellar results. Nice to see that the 5D gets similarly excellent results. The 5DMkII ought to be amazing with it. Hopefully you'll shoot some and let us see. :D

    Thanks Joel, Dan.

I will definitely shoot some with the new 5DMkII and post them up..probably even add a bit of HD video ;). I've been very happy with this piece of glass, this one and the 70-200 are sweet and give great DOF results.

Thanks Roentarre/Stephen. I really like that long glass especially when you can get pretty close and have the subject fill the entire frame.
