Looking to get a Shooting Table.

I'm looking for a shooting table. It doesn't need to be big, but I must be able to light my subjects from below, if needed. It does need to be stable, and since space is limited, I'll need to take it down and store it often. Price range = up to $500.00. Any suggestions? This one is a contender.

If you have experience with any table, please tell me how it's worked for you.

Thank you.

At my previous employer I had a custom 4' x 8' shooting/product table constructed from square tubing and heavy gauge Plexiglas. When I was laid off (the company was purchased by Stanley Corp. and they already had their own shooters) I constructed my own small product table out of PVC pipe and Plexiglas. Since I designed the small table myself I also designed it to be knocked down when not needed by not gluing some of the joints.

Just look at the commercial tables for inspiration and basic design.

The most ingenious I read about was a fellow that used an old card table. He removed the top, this particular model had a frame and legs separate from the top, and just lay Plexiglas over the top. He had spray painted the frame and legs, I think black, but you could use any color that matched your application. The problem with that design is that it is not open-back, which adds a bit more to the post-processing (to remove the resulting edge in some views and orientations.) An open back design only has the rear edge of the Plexiglas to remove.

Thank you, Ziggy. Those sound like a couple of nice tables, but I have no desire to build one.
