Grips and batteries

1. I'm considering a grip for the xsi. I've read the old debates on Opteka vs Canon oem, but any thoughts on some of the other non-oem ones, eg this Phottix model on ebay? (and are those batteries likely to be any good?)

2. I remember reading a thread somewhere at some point that I now can't find that recommended a NON oem brand of battery and said they were great. Anybody point me to the thread or can tell me who it was?

Jonathon Swinton recommends OWNUSER as a good brand of oem products....

Batteries - I have and like SterlingTek. I have strong doubts they really are 2000mAH, but I do believe they last as long as or longer then OEM.

I would get a Canon made grip and get the batteries for it from a reputable manufacturer - I can recommend GP.
Don't go for grips with integrated batteries.

+1 for Sterlingtek batteries. Mine easily outlast the Canon battery.

Thanks all! I think Sterlingtek were the ones previously mentioned that i couldn't remember - I've bookmarked these all now so hopefully can *find* them when I need them!
