Cool Yule Catchup - Motorcycle Racing Roundup
Well, I didn't leave you entirely..my apologies for being a little bit invisible around here. I have looked in to see what folks are up to and have enjoyed seeing what's happening with everyone.
So, here's a little catchup of images from me in no particular order....and of course there are more images on my site and some verbiage on my blog too...
Valencia MotoGP:
(a different verson of this image appears in the new Champions edition of Motorcycle Racer Magazine in the UK in "The Big Picture" section)
(Nicky Hayden on the Ducati GP-9 at testing following the GP)
Phillip Island MotoGP:
Indy MotoGP:
...and then a few from the AMA ProRacing/Dunlop Tire Test in Daytona:
(pace cars are apparently going to be a feature of AMA Proracing this year - sigh..)
Now to see what 2009 holds...should be interesting.
:wave
Have a Cool Yule everyone, be safe, and make sure to hug the ones you love.

andrew your work is simply the best!!!!!!! i have admired your work since i first found your site. then back in april i had a chance to see you in action at Barber Motorsports Park. being the star struck rookie that i was i was to nervous to walk up and introduce myself, i just sit back and watched you in action and while i was trying to take pics myself (1st time with media credentials) i was thinking to myself how much i needed to learn. i check your site daily and just wanna say thanks for the unbelievable work and hopefully i will be at your level in my lifetime.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm happy that folks have caught the feeling I've always tried to get across. I've always been worried less about thinking "wow what a cool photo" than making sure that people that couldn't get to see what I see, or maybe have a curious interest in this sport, might get some insight into another world. Be their eyes to so speak.
So rather than start another thread, I added a slide show with 155 images (Ben Bostroms number I guess) to my blog. It contains images from Daytona through to Valencia and is more of a story with what I found emotional and what pushed my own buttons vs being "cool" shots.
In fact, it didn't dawn on me I was doing this, until my wife mentioned the ...no wait, see if you can get the "theme"...for me it was totally unplanned and my subconcious was doing the work..

Happy New Year everyone.

The Gold wing on Nicky's rear I hadn't noticed, so thanks for that shot.
The Indy straight doesn't look as long as it is on that head-on shot of Loris.
I hope you have much to capture this year...

Its your fault I got myself a DSLR and had a go myself! After seeing your stuff on the Colin Edwards forum and then following you over time via website and motorcycle racer here in the UK inspired me to give it a go.
Don't blame me!!!!!!!
