A Different Kind of Tree Topper

Not exactly the kind of angel I'd had in mind:
We have small lots, 2 story-houses, and very big, old trees here, so more times than not, shooting the hawks is an exercise in stick-picking (this one out an upstairs window, no less!):
I was surprised when this red-tail sailed over and stayed put and close:
It poured most of today so I was feeling about like this by the time we finished:
