Well, made it out last week to the Getty Center for the day when the day light is the shortest and the sun is the lowest in the sky (I think). If you don't know the Getty Center, it's a very large museum with interesting architecture in West Los Angeles. It house lots of art and houses a large garden overlooking the Pasific Ocean to the West and downtown Los Angeles to the East. Recent rains made for some rare clouds, as we usually don't have clouds in LA, and clear skies, free of pollution. Here are the shots from the day.

1. Upon entereing the Getty, there is a sculture/art work, representing the first aqueduct that brought water down to LA from Norther CA, engineered by Mulhulland (they even have a famous road named after here). It actually flows water down.

6. Start of Winter, at least for LA, leaves are finally starting to change. Pretty low sun just past midday too.

7. Looking South. That's Westwood where UCLA is in the mid ground and downtown LA on the left of the background.

9. Finally, the sun sets just before 5PM right over one of the Center's Research buildings.
