I have a D300 for sale that is damaged and sent back to me from Nikon beyond repair because it has a damaged casting.

"Beyond repair due to main body casting damaged/broken rear casting."

It was blown over with a 70-200 mounted on it and it landed on the LCD side.

Will sell for parts.

Here is the photo of the back of the camera.

The cameras multi-selector button is broken off and missing. None of the buttons on the back function except the AF-ON button.

The LCD glass cover has a scratch in the very corner out of the LCD view. And another small scratch near the edge by the Multi-selector button.
the body is cracked above the mount right at the two screws that are there but still accepts lenses. The DK-23 eyepiece is broken but the viewfinder is fine.

Nikon says the body casting is damaged.

The camera takes a photo and displays it on the LCD fine. The flash works. Auto focus works although the focus area is stuck in one position.
