Hello,
I have had a Nikon D 40 for about a year. When I purchased the camera I was sold a 58mm circular polarizer Brand (SunpaK) if that matters.
Well, I am having a little difficulty figuring out how to get it on the camera. I have tried twisting it to the outside of the lens clockwise and counterclockwise and to no avail I am unable to get it on.
Can someone help me out. This is really bugging me.

Errm don't you need a 52mm filter for the kit lenses?

Ohiorn, welcome to the Digital Grin. clap.gif

"jo_c" has a point. Which lens are you trying to attach the polarizer onto?

The lens that comes with the D40 kit is either the 18-55 or 55-200 or both. Those two lenses use a 52 mm filter not 58. Take it back to where you got it and get the correct size.
