I have this film scanner that a friend offered to me a couple of years ago. I know this is a bit older unit....likely 5-7 years old. My question....Is the software likely to be compatible with Windows XP sp2?
I had tried it quite sometime ago with Windows ME and it didn't go well...as I remember it.
Thanks,

I believe the following is the correct driver for Windows XP and that scanner. Do install the driver before attempting to connect the scanner.

I would not attempt to use the scanner software that came with the unit. Rather get VueScan. (Yes, the FS4000 is supported.)

Why the preference to VueScan in place of Canon software?

Hi,
Vuescan gives you total control of your scanner, far more than the manufacturer gives you with thier software, Canon or anyone else. I have been using this program since 2002 and never had a problem with it. The ability to run older scanners on newer operating systems is reason enough to have this in your arsenal.
