JC dragged me out for a night shot. This was taken near Baldy's secret pano shoot location.

A poor 200 mm lens can't keep up with that there 600 mm, or 800 mm. :cry

I'll ask Santa next year. :D

That's pretty cool shooting, Sam! thumb.gif
Was it star filter, or did you add those stars in post?

Thanks guys! Yes this is a small aperture causing the stars.

These are the first two I processed fast last night.

While they can't compete with the detail of Baldy's they have a lot better detail than the small image posted here shows.

I have quite a few more some with bracketed exposure and some pano shots to stitch. I will work on these in a day or two.

I wish I felt better. Still fighting this horrid lingering cold that saps any ounce of energy from a person. I know I need to get back out there soon before they turn the lights back off.

I like both photos, but #2 with the yellow light on the water especially catches my eye. Looking forward to seeing some more photos.

Sam, those are both excellent photos, the moon really adds to the first, and love the long exposure/reflection on the second. It seems like 200mm was more than capable. I'm going to have to check out this "secret" location someday...

    I love it!

I posted a thread about my panos from the same location, in the Techniques forum.

Both shots came out very nice.

Love the moon, was that anticipated or fortuitous? Either way,
    you captured it beautifully.

Now where is this secret spot? mwink.gif
