Gray Cat - which version do you like?

I shot this image of my cat on Christmas day. I really liked how the red and tan mix with her gray coat. I cropped out the edge of a lamp and did some contrast and levels adjustments, plus removed a few artifacts. I know she should be looking into the rest of the picture, but that's where the lamp was. With that in mind, which crop do you like best?

Also, is there anything I can do with her left eye? It looks really flat compared to everything else. I did get PS CS4 for Christmas, so my editing possibilities are much broader now. :D

    Hi Lauren
I think the second crop is a bit too drastic, definitely prefer the first. As for the eye, you could use the color replacement tool to change it to black to match the other. There's a tut here

Thanks, John/Jack! I'll give it a whirl on the eye. I lean toward the first image myself. Lauren

Funny how we all see things differently, I like the tighter Cropped Shot,
    but that's just me :D

They get you in with their cute little faces and big eyes,
but they can be such monsters, selfish little furballs they are!

My Miss Kitty was smooching all over me last night only to turn around and bite me because I wouldn't let her outside in the dark.

I don't know who taught her to bite in the manner that she does,
but she only does it when she wants to go outside and I don't take any notice of her........ she gets her point across very sharply,
and so in the one and a half years she's been visiting, and now living at my house,
she has never once ever attempted to do wee or poop inside the house.

May you enjoy many years of photographing your sweet little cat thumb.gif

I like the tighter crop, too, but what if you split the difference and tried a square crop? It would be less tight than the second shot, but take some of the right side off to focus more on the cat's face.

And what a cute cat it is, too!

I like the second crop as well. For me, the difference in the fur in the first one is somewhat distracting.

    Square Version
Here is the square version, with the eye made darker:

Thanks for all the comments/opinions. I'll have to print one (or more) to see how it looks now.
