All,

Will the following fit the bill for remote flash for basketball gym photography. I plan on using with SB800 and SB600s for the slaves.

Your advice is appreciated. Ify ou have any other recommendations for something better it is appreciated.

Thanks,

Maybe, if the distance rating is accurate (and I have a bridge to sell you if you believe everything you read on-line).

    Is this significant?
    - 433MHz wireless radio frequency (RF) operation
Oh, and if there aren't any other transmitters working at that frequency. I found no indication that this thing will work on multiple channels - channels are a good thing when trying to avoid interference from another transmitter.

    Thanks Scott,

Do any Nikon users have any cheaper recommendations for wireless flash?

    Thanks,

I understand how you'd want to get a PW type flash control system...especially on the cheap. But I have to say that Radio poppers are on MY short list for this year. That said, I have used my Sb800 and 600 set up with the CLS quite well with very little problem. So far they have been consistent as long as I do my part with fresh batteries and of course keeping a line of sight. But that line of sight can be quite creative and is more flexible than folks seem to think. For instance, I place my slave around a corner, totally hidden from the camera and still send a signal. What has to happen is you have to have a corner to bounce off of, kinda like playing pool. But for larger venues, where you've got distance to travel, you'll have to actually have the camera pointed toward the light to trigger it.

You know, I wish there was. But my guess is The PW's, Poppers and the like are about as cheap as they can get em to us. There are several folks on here who use a eBay cheap model, but I cannot vouch for there consistency. And when it comes down to it, I'd rather wait until I can buy the good stuff on this one.

I used the eBay triggers with a Sb600 and they worked almost flawlessly. The eBay seller is Gadget Infinity. But I believe you can also buy the from www.MPEX.com. Gadget Infinity ships them straight from China.

That said, I would wait and spend the extra $50 on a set of Radio poppers.

Do we know when the new Radio Poppers X system will be available?
