Equestfest 2008

This is an annual end of the year show put on by the equestrian entrants of the upcoming New Year's Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, just before the Rose Bowl.

Anyway, I was in the stands and felt that the most interesting folks were the fast stunt riding women, so I got a few pics of them. Tough lighting with fluorescent, shadow, and sunlight mixing and requiring very high ISO's just to get a decent shutter speed. Was panning for most to show some motion.

    Very cool. Nice detail in #2. Nice capture of motion in numbers 3 and 4. I wish I could get some outdoor arena shots here in the winter; the Northwest that is. Everyone moves indoors until spring, it seems.

    I kept looking and looking at these. Each photograph is very nice; the capture, the crops and finish is good. It reminds me of looking thru a magazine. I can't decide which is my favorite.
