Thanks for the advice. I went back to it and did a quick mask on the green plant and then adjusted the curves along with brightness and contrast. How is this? Did I go too far or is there a different approach I should have taken when making the adjustments?

Don't get me wrong, the first shot you posted is fine,
but I felt it lacked that "POP" with your colours.
