While visiting my inlaws for Christmas, I took the 2 hour drive out to Joshua Tree National Park. I had been there a few years ago, but only had a p&s of 2 mp. This time, I had my 40D and several lenses. Here are a few of what I captured on Dec 27. Comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks for looking, and Happy New Year!

I like them all. #2 and #3 are the best. The second one does look like an IR shot.
    More Photography . . . Less Photoshop [. . . except when I do it]

Wow, you finally found a point to having in-laws!

These are great, the third is my favorite, but I really like the post-processing on the second too.

Thanks again everyone! Yeah Ron, the best part of my inlaws living 3000 miles away (other than the fact they live 3000 miles away) is I always get to take a day to drive around southern Cali to take some pictures whenever I go visit.

I don't remember exactly my post processing for the b/w shot, but I did shoot it in color with a CP and then used Nik Silver Efx to convert it to b/w. I tweaked it to my liking, instead of using one of the canned pre-sets.

ps-my mother in law is actually not so bad, she got me a Speedlite 430EX for xmas!

Other than the obvious "wow great trees!" I love this thread because it has me in stitches. :D

I definitely learned something from Dgrin this morning... about in-laws. :D
