The wife was dong some icing for some cakes that the lass had made, and I nicked her green food dye off her and dropped a droplet or two into the bowl (made whiter by a touch of milk in the water).

You did well - I gave up trying to do these - got fed up with a hit rate of about 1 in 50 for a decent shot and not enough interest to develop the electronic triggering controls some people use.
