I like the B&W conversion. The comp is interesting but it doesn't hold my attention. My eyes are drawn to the nose, the eyes and then the reflecion in the floor. There's no one element that holds my attention. I'm also wondering where the tips of its ears are.
The eyes are the strongest element in the capture. I would have tried another angle to keep the viewer's attention on teh eyes.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
