Took the Thanksgiving holiday to go down and see my daughter and my third grandson of the year. We decided to make a photo road trip out of it since we were not staying long with my daughter due to schedules. Down the Eastern Slope of the Sierra Nevada and Back up the Coast to Monterey
1400 mile round trip.
We left Sacramento and beat the snow storm over the Sierras and stayed in Topaz Lake Nevada since the road to Bridgeport was said to be closed. We wanted to go to Bodie but did not think it would happen since it is at 8300ft

Bodie road was open but the last 3 mile were snow over dirt I chickened out since it was the beginning of the trip. If I had drove my Subaru instead of the Toyota Mini Van we might have made the attempt.

Finally as we got farther south the clouds let up enough to get a shot of the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada
