generic Quick Release anyone?

Hi,

Earlier in 2008 I bought myself a Gitzo Carbon fiber tripod with a Kirk BH-3. That Kirk came with a generic release plate.

While I realize that the generic may not be perfect, it works for me. I am looking for a second generic camera plate, but can't find it.

Does anyone know if any QR camera plates work with the BH-3? I don't mind buying the $30 piece from Kirk themselves, but...I will upgrade the camera(hoping this year) and hate to waste the $30 because it only fits the D70s.

it says it is Arcaswiss...what is that??

Any clues?

Thank you.

There are some manufacturers who build generic arca swiss plates for cameras (and lenses):

    1. ReallyRightstuff.com
    2. Benro
    3. Wimberly
    4. Markins
    5. Novoflex
    7. ArcaTech
    8. ArcaSwiss
    9. ...

Just google a bit or search on ebay, you will find it pretty fast.
