I still got time for a different shot, but I like a couple that I listed in the wildlife forum.
The bad news is, wildlife shots normally don't do that well in these challenges.

Although I got a few bites here, I have had better feedback on a different forum.

The favorite on the other forum is this one.

Me, I kind of like this one, probably because I don't normally see a bird posing like this.

So, what do you think?

Thread with the other 6 shots is here: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=115897

Thanks for looking.

#1 for me as well - the detail in the water/splash is just incredible!

The background i s a little distracting in #2, although the pose is great- comical looking. But it took me a minute to really notice the pose because of the background. SO, the first one has more impact for sure.

The action in #1 makes it the best of the two for me :)

The thing with 2 is that the more I look at it the more I want to caption it, "And what time do you call THIS?" and photoshop in a rolling pin or something - it's very funny!

Your avatar is, if I remember correctly, proof that this isn't true.... Followed the link to some stunning images. As you do this sort of stuff so very well, why not just enter one and don't worry about it?!

Thanks everyone. Looks like the hop, skip and flap one gets the nod, unless I get something better
    during the next week.

Mark, a few wildlife shots get into the mix, but it would be a small percentage.
It could just be that not as many of those types of shots are entered.
Either way, I don't worry about it. I just like looking through the shots to what others have done with
    a given idea.

I would bet that most of the wildlife shooters are having too much fun taking pictures and making really bad jokes in the wildlife forum to take time out to enter the challenge. But that's a completely un-scientific observation on my part. deal.gif

I have to agree with the rest. #1. #2 is hilarious but again, the background is to distracting. It would be funny with the tittle "Whateya lookin at??" Go with #1 though, the shot grabs the viewer better:D

Dave they are all great and stand on their own merits. I think that I tend to lean toward 1 and 3...with 3 edging out as being totally unique with the fog and amount of geese! Very nice captures!thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Dave, all three of these are wonderful. I love the pp on the swans too. I have to say #3 is my favorite though for the outstanding composition and the soft colors. The mood in that image completely draws you in and keeps you there.

(and as a side note, I would personally love to see more wildlife shots in the challenges!)

Thanks everyone, my shot of the swans in the mist is in.

I went to a Strobist meet up today and got a few shots.
The Strobist thing is to shoot with off camera lighting.
Seeing as I don't want to buy a bunch of lighting equipment, I ended up
shooting just about anything but the models.

I'll stick with what I entered, but I just thought that I'd put a couple up.
