    Great angle. The best macro shots usually require getting dirty. Shooting mushrooms means getting muddy, as the best time to shoot is right after the big rains.

    I agree with what all's been said above - the shot is very nice and the lighting is perfect for the subject. The subtle color gradient on the mushroom caps comes across really well. Very nice.

    very good, did you use a reflector to bounce light under caps?

    Hey Phil - no reflector at all. Ambient light deep in Muir Woods. Took one shot and the did +2/3 EC (aperture priority) to lighten it up a bit. Total exposure was 6 seconds @ f/11, ISO 200, EF-180 f/2.8 lens with a 1.4 extender.
