Sigma 50-150 front focusing on 50D?

I picked up a Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 DC for my Canon 50D yesterday. Did a bit of shooting with it around the house at 150 and f/2.8 (close-ups of my daughter and the cats) and noticed the focal plane seemed to be in front of the subject (this is front-focusing, right?). I decided this meant it was time to play with the AF microadjustment on the 50D and, after maxing the Sigma out at +20 it's better, but still not perfect.

I vaguely recall reading reports of this before, with some people suggesting sending it to Sigma for adjustment, others suggesting returning it and trying with another (I bought it from Amazon). Any direct experiences with this from folks here?

thanks,
--Ian

Send the lens to Sigma for adjustment, if the microadjust doesn't fix it. These things tend to happen, it's not the end of the world.
