Unexpected model/car shoot...

So I get a text message from my friend Thorne informing me he has a friend who wants to get into modeling. I scurry to the studio after work and when everyone arrives I am informed I'm shooting an import model... My mouth opens and all I'm thinking is, "ummm, dude, I've never shot this style before and have no reference to work from."

Let's just say I shot this completely blind and yes I did park a car in my studio :)

BTW, her first photoshoot and the cars 10th.

    Nice! clap.gif
    I'm envious: a studio you can drive a car into :-) rolleyes1.gif
Do you mind describing your lighting setup? Seems like you got a lot of power on that wall...

    Nicely done!

I'd love to have a space that large to work with. I'd be interested in your lighting as well.

The studio is a total area of 1500sq feet and the shooting area has a bay door in which a semi could back into.

The back light was a white muslin hung to the wall to hide misc. things and blasted with two Alien Bee 800s at 1/4 power and fired by slave.

Main light was 6ft softbox at f5.6 and fill light was 5 foot strip box with grid at f3.5.

    :)

I'm a big fan of car/model shots but I have to agree that the last two are the best of this series.

the clarity is on point the lighting is perfect the only gripe is that the model has the same expression, some smiling would be nice dosnt look happy, take it as a grain of salt.

Love the last 2. I agree I would like to have a studio I could drive a car into...well I do but not completely put a car in...more bikes and quads...but the extra 500 sq ft you have helps. The only thing I saw with the first shot were the veins in her legs...maybe a bit of smoothing to hide them. Other than that...great images.

There are some good poses but honestly, it looks like she'd rather not be there.
