Hidden Waterfall in Austin

Right now if you went to this same spot the falls would be trickling due to the severe drought in central Texas but when this shot was taken Austin had just had some nice rain. The falls are tucked away at the bottom of a hill right off a major highway that runs through the hills in Austin.

I like the contrast on the rocks to the left and right of the waterfall. Adds some nice depth to the picture.

Very nice! One of these days, I will have to get up to Austin to shoot. Could you tell me where the falls are? Which highway? Thanks.

That is a really nice shot. I'm VERY new to DSLR and one of the main reasons I wanted one was so I could capture the water flowing like that. I have read and read trying to figure out how to do itheadscratch.gif

The waters is blurred well with long exposure.

However, the foreground is lacking to a degree that the image loses a bit of balance of elements.

    Lauren,

The exact location can be found on the smug mug maps here

    Manganos,

Bluring water is pretty simple. Use a tripod and slow your shutter speed down. If there is bright light you will need a ND filter to block some light
