Using Smugmug to host web site pictures

Hi,

Can I trust Smugmug to be reliable and to not change their image links over the longer term?

I'm setting up a web site come blog where I'll be posting many of my pictures to. And I have a professional level Smugmug account too.
So I'm wondering if linking images to web pages from Smugmug is practiced by any, or whether this is a good thing or not.
I've been testing this setup with my (beta) site for the last monh or so, and bar just a few slow downs, does seem to work for me quite well.

The one disadvantage I see is my site would now rely on two locations. I gather Smugmug is quite a reliable site so I should not worry too much about them(?)
On the other hand, the advantages are Smugmug's dynamic sizing of images, (one upload for lots of sizes for my site) and their (editable) sharpening algorithms look really good.

So, the bottom line is, can I trust Smugmug to be ever reliable and to not change their image links over the longer term?
Any input would be really appreciated :)

For what it's worth my website is here: http://www.davidlloyd.info/

I have image links since 2003 that haven't changed :D

To be clear: We take links very seriously and don't break them - even when we implemented a new security key setup, we didn't break old links.
