Last October I took a trip on the Acadian Nature Cruise boat out of Bar Harbor, Maine to try and get some wildlife pictures, if your are in the area these are the guys to go with to see eagles and seals. This is my first real attempt at wildlife photography, and I am on a budget so I have a 70-300 lense no image stableization and I was stnding on a moving boat. We did find a pair of eagles one of which had a fish on the rocks. Here is what I got, some c&c would be apreaciated. Thanks.

Looks like the fall colors were just starting too.. probably a very pretty site, eagles and beautiful landscape.

You did quite well Peter for the conditions your shooting conditions. It is not easy getting good captures from a moving boat. Some of the whites look a tad hot.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

thanks for the comments. Shooting from a boat is less than ideal for sure, but it is one of the best way to find the numerouse eagles in the area because they tend to to stay in areas that are dificult or immpossible to get to, and my time to shoot is seriously limited work.:cry

I do a lot of shooting from a boat and even with image stabilization it can be a challenge. Nikon's VR2 has a second mode of VR intended for moving vehicles. Haven't tried it out yet.

If these are all full frame, that second to last would be nice leveled and cropped a bit. The eagle spread out like that with the fall colors on the background are really nice thumb.gif
