Was suffering from cabin fever last Saturday. I got out early and enjoyed 4 hours at the museum, just experimenting. Any CC is appreciated.

I have to do some reading, and find out why I'm only getting one image into my thread.

I like the tight cropping and emphasis on texture and shapes.
One thing I find distracting is that the lighting looks very flat and a touch washed out like a flash without any direction or diffusion was used.

Welcome to dgrin. Nice close-ups... looking forward to more from you. In response to your problem, attachments are limited to one image per post. To post multiple images in one post read the tutorial that can be found here

Thanks Jack, and TeeWhy, I appreciate the help and comments.....and patience for the new guy. Also will be checking into the tutorial. The images were taken with my new 580EXII, with no diffuser. That would account for the washed out look. I now have Stoffen and a Gary Fong light sphere Cloud diffuser, that I will take along, on the next trip.
