[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]I don't know if this really fits Landscape or more photojournalism, anyways we have had a bunch of snow now warm rain and more rain which creates havoc with the rivers and avalanches and slides in the mountains. These arent real setup take your time images no tripod was pretty much shoot and get out. Bad part this is just the start next 24 hours is going to be real bad.

Yes, it is bad here. Many roads, more than I've ever seen in my lifetime are closing because of floods. Where I grew up we never have seen much over 4-ft of snow. There was around 5-ft and then the rain. It is very disheartening for many, many reasons. I was lucky to get home and feel bad that many won't have a home to go to.

Is this a common occurance? I remember seeing a stunning set of photojournalistic shots of this exact phenomenon, probably around this time last year.

Ah, found it, but the photos have since been moved.

Heartbreaking, but still such a sight to see.

Thanks for asking the floods haven't affected us our subdivision is on a hillside away from the rivers. Only the snow cause havoc for us (lots of hills) and no plowing. Overall Western Washington is a mess all 3 mountain passes I-90, Hwy 2 and several other have been closed also Interstate 5 South of Seattle is closed that is not good

I'm getting a little tired of these annual 100-year floods in Washington...

These photos and others I've seen on the news are crazy, I feel sorry for all these people who are just starting to recover from the last floods.
