ok I would love to post some pics but all of mine are too big. Unfortunately I dont know how to resize them. The only program that I have is paintshop 8. I do use a hosting service with photobucket.com but the url links they give me wont pase into the threads I try to start. Please forgive me I am afraid my ingornorance is causing this problem.

I don't know paintshop 8. Is there not a menu place that controls Image Size?

If so, simply make your longest side 800 pixels. That will attach without a problem.

Why are your photos too big? Are they uncompressed or panaramics that you've created? Smugmug allows standard users to upload images that are up to 8MB in size.

If you are using Windows XP and looking for a quick and dirty way to resize bulk images you can use the Windows XP Image Resizer PowerToy from Microsoft:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

It's a simple no frills utility and it doesn't allow you to configure image quality but it gets the job done.

Lets get it straight 1st. Are you talking about uploading to show a photo on this site or to SmugMug ?

Im assuming if your shots are too big load to smugmug then you have a camera worth more than my car & thus would be well advanced at re-sizing so im assuming you want to post a shot on this site headscratch.gif

    How'd i go ?

Cool...i would certainly expect that the canon software that came with the camera can re-size. Have you tried that ?

The photo will need to be smaller than 117.2 kb in the jpeg format to make it through the gate.
