I took this shot at Chester Zoo and I personally have my doubts about it. However, I would love to here your honest opinions on it as I have reasons which I will explain later.

My only thought is he's looking at the edge of the frame. It would have been nice to have the space on the left of the frame, rather than the right.

    Thanks for posting.

Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

Thanks Benjamin. Having giving it a thought I would totally agree it should have been to the right. However, I don't really want to throw my hand in yet and I will reveal all shortly.

If you have the pixels, I'd simply crop it in portrait orientation to a very tight face shot, keeping what space there is on the left.

On my laptop monitor it looks a wee bit out of focus or as if DOF is slightly off? Or was it moving?

Yes that is what I thought about it. I cannot remember if it was moving at the time. However, the reason for asking is because I received an email from [Flickr] Schmap Manchester Guide to say this image had been selected the link is as follows http://www.schmap.com/shortlist/p=10857334N06/c=SJ101015 and I didn't think the photo was all that good. I never submitted this photo and had never heard of Schmap Manchester Guide.

I take it no one has had any experience of this.
