I take pictures regularly of kids sporting events . .I have had a few customers purchase pictures through Smugmug and then ask for them in digital format? Would you do this and if so, what would you charge per picture. Some may just want them like negatives and others would take them and reprint their own. Would you do this ?? I also had a lady who wanted to purchase all 27 photos of her son and wanted to purchase a disc so she could make multiple copies for grandparents etc . .. what kind of a price would you put on something like that to guarantee your cut???

I would not offer the disc in portrait sessions but would think about the extra money in just snapshots of kids . ..

Just asking . .. :dunno still new to this . . .

Thanks

You can set up digital downloads in your photo price settings for people to buy. I notice that you do not have this set currently. You should consider taking away the share button.
Now anyone wanting a picture can place a photo on a forum and download it from there.

As far as the digital download pricing, you have to decide what your work is worth. The pricing difference from a personal use picture from a game versus a commercial use stock photo is huge IMHO. I am still struggling with this same conundrum that you are with pricing. I am thinking somewhere between $10 and $20 per digital download from a kids game for instance. Anyone have thoughts or history on specifics?

Also, I agree with Steve that you need to remove that 'Share' button stat! thumb.gif
