Backcountry goodness!

So I recently turned the big 3-0 and went on a backcountry hut trip with friends to celebrate. Turned out to be a bit of adventure with taking the wrong trail, breaking new trail and finishing up in the dark :D Here are few of my favorites from the trip...

    I've always wondered why there are not more hut systems. Seems like a wonderful way to enjoy the bc.

    Yeah, the hut systems are wonderful - it would be nice if there were more. This one is only open during the winter due to its location within a wilderness area and a nearby elk herd. We are doing another trip in February, so hopefully I will get some more shots!

    Thanks for the b-day wishes! I did feel old after 14 miles of snowshoeing that weekend! :D

    Ha ha! I bet it was a lot of fun--I just dug my snowshoes out though I doubt I'll get anywhere anytime soon.
