sharing an email image

Hello,
I was sent an email with an image on it. I would like to share it but I can't seem to transfer the image. I usually drag an image to a file, and then put it on smug mug to get a link to share but instead of the seeing the image what is left is a piece of paper with the upper right corner folded over. and instead of it ending in jpg or gif, it just shows about 10 numbers. When I clik on it a window pops up and says There is no default application to open this document. And to choose an application which I did but I have no idea what to do from here.
Can anyone help please?
Thank you very much.

I'm not sure what you are doing wrong but it is easier to use the email share on your SmguMug site. This help page shows you how to do this.
hth,
Shay.
Still can't figure it out.
Maybe I am not explaining it correctly.
I am not sure of the terms.
Someone sent me an email with images on it.
I want take one of them and put it on a forum site.
The way I have been doing that is to drag an image to a file and from there upload it to smugmug, get a link then then post it on the forum.
I can drag this image to the file but it's not the image. It's different.
I put the list of images from the email below.
I like the pasadena one, Pasadena 1900 <30.2877212173>
Can you see that it is not a jpg?
Maybe that's it?
Thanks
