Parakeets In The Snow

First time here, but I want to learn. I headed out with my camera today to get some winter shots - we don't get much snow in Brussels and it was a beautiful cold day. I ran across these two displaced Rose-ringed Parakeets, sitting in snowy tree, surrounded by mistletoe.

Shot with a Canon 5D2, 70-200L 2.8 with a 2x teleconverter to try to get as close as I could with what I had.

Looking for critiques. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Difficult to do but watch your background.

Thanks. With tongue in cheek, I'd add that next time I will ask the male/female couple to adjust their posemwink.gif. Being new to most of this, I was just thrilled to find these two tropical transplants trying to stay warm on the same branch, with snow and mistletoe as a background.

Not a total loss though as it may help warm up my wonderfully supportive wife towards a 600mm lensiloveyou.gif.

What a colorful way to start off. Love pics of parrots and parakeets. Welcome! About the only bit of advice, and it's really just an observation, is that connecting that telephoto zoom to a 2X converter really cuts down on the sharpness of the photo. Other than that, it is a nice image showing the parakeets in their habitat.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
