Well I hope this is in the right area.

I bought from Digital Megastore.com on 4/18

I bought a Rebel XT

When i completed the order I asked the salesperson about the return policy and advised what date we would start using it. He said that is fine and he would note my order.

Ok this rebel has issues, A crazy amount of lint and dust is getting inside and I am not sure how. Lens never came off, now looking at it the foam near the shutter is ripped and is leaving black foam in the lens area.

I call them they say sorry no note of that in the order take it up with Canon. Called canon they adv the place i bought it has 90 days to return it.

I called them back , he told me listen I told you no so shove it! There were some words traded and he claimed to be the owner and his words got worse and worse. His end comment was hey David, ya? FU DAVID and hu on me.

I would never buy from them, even if the camera was on sale for 50% off!

I would also call Canon, and have them make good on it. That reseller represents them, in effect, and they need to honor their warranty to you. They should know about shady dealers selling their gear, and they should make sure that you have a good, operating unit.

Their rep on the phone said they are an authorized Canon dealer, Canon says nope they aren't

Canon's answer was send it in we will fix it in 10--14 business days which is great but also doesn't work for me since i have a shoot on Alcatraz coming up and in las vegas in the 9th of next month.

So i called another camera shop and explained my situation and they said bring it in and they will swap it.

    VERY NICE

so i did it and have a new XT here now.

I second that. What's the name of the store that swapped the camera for you?

is300soon. Sucks that you had to go through this. I know how it can be dealing with customer service that sucks. I have been working on this one project with xerox customer service for over a month and they have the worst customer service. Billing and service have different databases and they are very under trained. I didn't get anything done till I was billigerent and asked for a supervisor. I got done in 15 minutes of complaining and threatening what I couldnt get done in 30 days of being professional. What is this world coming to. ne_nau.gif

You should try dealing with retired military insurance, hahahahahaha.....
especially the pharmacy coverage which is farmed out. That is going to cost us far more than the cost of a new camera. I know this is not camera related, sorry, but it is the same principle. My doctor said that all insurance companies are farming their coverage out.

I wonder what countries the camera representatives were in.

That is why local is so good, they NEED you, it is a symbiotic relationship.

(sometimes more expensive, though, and the long run doesn't cut it when you don't have it. For those who do, I think it is the best answer all around.)
