I still am in awe and full of pure unadulterated excitement!!!!!
Thank you all so much, and to think my daughter said to me that it was nice but for a open challenge it should be something else.
I was || this close to almost not entering this time around... but in the end I had waited almost 2 years for this shot. Long before DSS or even LPS I had shot this exact same island in another envelope of fog and it has always been one of my favorite shots, I always planned on trying to duplicate or top the image in the time frame of a competition and this time the timing was finally good. I saw the results on my break at work tonight and as soon as I was done, I phoned the wife to tell her that the island made it.
This round was amazing and there are so many wonderful images I was just hoping to possibly squeak into the top 5.... WAHHHhoooo
Congratulations to MrsCue, AaronNelson, jeffreaux2, jeffmeyers and all the other photographers! You all together make this a great place.
I can not forget to also thank the judges PaulThomasMcKee and KevXman for your time and expertise.
Last but far from least Greensquared and DoctorIt for your tireless volunteer help and organization, oh and SmugMug too for the awesome prizes!
