Image Size Calculations

I am starting to try my hand at some panoramas and am wanting to make sure that I am doing things correctly. I realize that there are size limits on SmugMug photos. I understand the megabyte limits.

The one I am a little puzzled by is the megapixel limitation, not that there is one but to make sure I am calculating it properly. Is it simply a matter of taking the pixel dimensions from PS-CS3 and doing the multiplication. Then dividing by 1,048,576 to convert pixels to megapixels.

48 megapixels is the size limit.

So, 8000 pixels by 6000pixels.

or, 12000 pixels by 4000 pixels.

Etc.
